When is the box office open?

Our in-person box office hours are Monday through Friday, 12pm – 5pm CST.

On performance days, the box office will open two (2) hours prior to the start of the show and will stay open until the show’s scheduled start time.

How do I get my tickets?

The Auditorium utilizes AXS or Ticketmaster for most performances.

AXS 

For shows sold on AXS, tickets can be purchased online at auditoriumtheatre.org, in person at our box office, or over the phone at 312.341.2300.

Tickets are issued digitally and must be presented on your phone using the AXS mobile app. You can also have paper tickets sent to you via Standard Mail or held at Will Call upon request – please note there is a $6 fee for either of these options.

Ticketmaster

For shows sold on Ticketmaster, tickets can be purchased online at auditoriumtheatre.org or in person at our box office.

Tickets are issued digitally and must be scanned in using your mobile device via the Ticketmaster App.

You can also have paper tickets sent to you via Standard Mail or held at Will Call upon request – please note there is a $6 fee for either of these options.

How can I access my tickets for the show?

AXS

  • Your AXS Mobile ID is the secure and unique code for all of your tickets, and all you need is the AXS app to use it (iOS or Android).
  • No paper tickets required!
  • Simply show your tickets on your phone using the AXS app to enter the venue.
  • Download the AXS app through the App Store or on Google Play and create an account using the email you used for your order.

Ticketmaster

  • You can also access your tickets from the Ticketmaster Mobile App. 
  • Mobile tickets are sent by text message or email.
  • You need to find the text message or email and click on the link to be directed to your tickets.

How can I create an Ticketmaster or AXS account?

AXS

There are a few options for creating and setting up an AXS account:

  • If you’ve already purchased tickets, your account will be under the email address you used to complete the purchase (where your confirmation email was sent).
  • Purchase tickets: If you buy tickets for an event and don’t yet have an AXS account, you’ll be walked through the steps to create your account before completing your purchase.
  • Facebook: Click “Sign In” on AXS.com (top left), then click the Facebook icon. From there you’ll enter your Facebook credentials and will need to verify your email address.
  • Email: Once you click “Sign In” on AXS.com, there will be an option to “Create AXS Account.” After clicking that, you’ll be asked to fill in all the necessary info to set-up your account.
  • If you’re using the AXS app, tap on the Account icon on the bottom-right and then tap on “Create Account.”

Ticketmaster

  • Click or tap My Account.
  • Enter your email address then select Continue.
  • Enter your details then select Next. You must verify an email and phone before your account is fully created.
  • Click or tap Add my phone and enter your phone number, then Add number.
  • Type the code you received and select Confirm code. Standard data and messaging rates may apply.
  • Select Verify my email and check all of your email inboxes and folders for a message from @email.ticketmaster.com.
  • Enter the code and select Confirm code.
  • Select Done.

Can I use a screenshot of my ticket? Or print my ticket at home?

No, screenshots of tickets will not be accepted. Print at home tickets are also no longer an option.

Please have your mobile app ready - we also recommend saving your mobile tickets to your Apple or Google wallet prior to arriving to the theatre.

Can I transfer my tickets to someone else?

Yes – both the AXS and Ticketmaster apps allow you to transfer your tickets to another account. Please note that some shows have a ticket delivery delay of up to 24 hours prior to showtime, so ticket transfers may be limited for select events. For additional questions on transfers visit AXS and TicketMaster.

  • Tap Transfer. If you receive a message that the Event Organizer hasn’t activated transfer, your tickets aren’t eligible for transfer.

  • Select the tickets you'd like to transfer and tap Transfer To.
  • Enter your recipient's information, including their mobile number or email address — you could even add a note too. If a mobile number is entered, a link to claim the ticket will pop up with a pre-written text message, just press send and it will go to your recipient. If an email address is entered, a link to claim the ticket will go to your recipient in an email.
  • Tap Transfer Ticket.

How do I get presale access?

Pre-sale information is delivered via email to everyone who is signed up for our newsletter. Join our mailing list here. You can also follow us on socials to stay up to date! 

Presales that happen before the general on sale are available online only.

Most promo code are only valid online. Please contact us if you have any questions on where your promo code is valid at.

Authorized Sellers - How can I be certain my tickets are official verified tickets?

Unauthorized ticket reselling is on the rise. To avoid deceptive resellers online, make sure you purchase via auditoriumtheatre.org – all tickets are sold via AXS or Ticketmaster.

Please note, third party tickets may prevent admittance. Please make sure to follow all directions to accept your third party ticket transfer prior to arrival.

If you bought tickets through a 3rd party reseller (StubHub, Vivid, SeatGeek, etc.)

  • Check your inbox (might be in junk/spam) or your text messages.
  • Look for an email or text message from AXS or Ticketmaster to confirm and claim your ticket transfer
  • Sign into your AXS or Ticketmaster APP to access and use tickets

What is your refund policy?

All sales are final. We do not offer refunds unless a show has been canceled or rescheduled. In those situations, we will notify ticket buyers directly.

What if my performance is rescheduled or canceled?

If rescheduled, all purchased tickets will be honored for the new concert date!
For online ticket purchase questions, please contact AXS or Ticketmaster.
If you purchased your ticket in-person at The Auditorium, please contact us directly.

If canceled, you will automatically receive a refund if you purchased with a credit card- generally within 30 days. This timeframe could vary. If purchased with cash at the box office, you will need to bring the original tickets back to the box office in order to receive a refund.

Will Call or Guest List Tickets?

Tickets will be available to pick up at the box office will call window located on the east side of the foyer as you walk in

Guest list tickets will be available when the doors open for the performance in most cases- since these come from different avenues arrival time may vary.   

Ticket Fees

The Auditorium makes every effort to transparently disclose fees for ticket purchases. There is a base ticket price to which we add:

  • Facility Fee: A varied range dependent upon show/event up to $6 per ticket – The Auditorium is a not-for-profit organization and a National Historic Landmark and a portion of the facility fee goes straight back into investment and improvement in our building.
  • Ticket Fee: This ticket service fee, progressively calculated on a percentage of the ticket cost, helps us pay for our ticketing system, maintenance and regular upgrades.
  • Credit Card Fee: This is a typical interchange purchase fee paid to the credit card network for processing our sales transactions.
  • Amusement Tax: This tax goes to Cook County and the City of Chicago.

The Auditorium is a cashless venue – we only accept credit or debit card payments at all points of purchase.

Children

All guests must have a ticket for entry, and in all instances, babies in arms are not permitted. It is the sole responsibility of the parent or guardian to research and judge the content of a performance as appropriate for their child’s age and level of maturity. There is no official rating system for live performance.

Baby changing tables are located in both the men’s and women’s restrooms, located in the Lower Level and on Level 3 of The Auditorium.

Booster seats and disposable ear plugs are available in the Coat Check between Aisles 2 and 3 in the Main Floor Lobby.

If a Mother’s Room is needed, please inquire onsite with the Front of House Manager.

Is there an age limit? Unless specifically stated in the event policy, The Auditorium does not have any age restrictions for entry. There is no official rating system for live performance, and it is up to the parent or guardian’s discretion to determine if a performance is appropriate for their child’s age and maturity level. All guests must have a ticket for entry, regardless of age. Babies in arms are not permitted.

Coat Check

Coat Check is located between Aisle 2 and Aisle 3 in the Main Floor Lobby. Please note that our Coat Check only accepts credit card transactions. The Coat Check also features complimentary seat cushions/booster seats, disposable ear plugs, and assisted listening devices.

Electronics, Photography and Video

Please turn off ALL electronic devices that may ring, beep, vibrate, or otherwise produce a sound that may disrupt performances. The use of video, photography, or any other recording devices is strictly prohibited during performances.

Filming Notice

Please be aware there may be video recording and/or photography of audience members taking place throughout the day. By entering The Auditorium, you consent to your voice, name, image, and/or likeness being used, without compensation, by The Auditorium, in any medium of publicity or advertising, and you release The Auditorium, its members, agents, employees, and board from any liability.

Late Seating

Please arrive early! Door open one (1) hour prior to the event start time. The Auditorium has a strict policy of no late seating for dance and select comedy/concert performances*.
Guests arriving after a performance has begun, or leaving the seating area for any reason, will be seated in a designated section and may take their ticketed seats at intermission, if applicable.

Lost & Found

Found articles should be left with any Auditorium team member. To determine whether a personal article has been turned in to the Lost and Found, please call 312-341-2300. Any items lost or presumed stolen are not the responsibility of The Auditorium. Lost and Found items will be held on-site for 30 days only.

Prohibited Items

Bags

  • All bags must be inspected by security upon arrival.
  • Personal item recommended size 17 × 13 × 8 inches.
  • Once inside The Auditorium, if your bag is small enough to fit on your lap or under your seat without obstructing any aisles or walkways, you are welcome to keep it with you throughout the duration of the show.
  • Anything larger than that will need to be checked at coat check, which is located between Aisle 2 and Aisle 3. Coat check charges $2 per item.  
  • There may be some events where bags are not allowed per the tour request. Please refer to your pre-show email. 

Cameras (photo or video) and professional camera equipment (tripods, monopods, etc.) and/or audio recording equipment of any kind are NOT permitted in The Auditorium during an event.

Firearms are strictly prohibited and in compliance with the Illinois Firearms Concealed Carry Act, The Auditorium prohibits the carrying of weapons of any kind in and on The Auditorium property.

Smoking of any kind, including e-cigarettes and vaporizers, is strictly prohibited inside The Auditorium and within 25 feet of any entrances.

Restrooms

Restrooms are located on the Main Floor, Lower Level and Level 3 of The Auditorium.  There are 2 accessible gender-neutral restrooms located in the Southwest corner of the Main Lobby and 2 additional accessible gender-neutral restrooms located on Level 3 of The Auditorium.

Security

Upon arrival, all guests will be required to follow all security protocols and screenings, which may include walk through metal detectors and/or handheld wands in order to gain access into The Auditorium.

Accessibility

The Auditorium makes every effort possible to accommodate the needs of all members of the community and is dedicated to complying fully with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Navigating Our Space

Accessible Entrance

The Auditorium’s glass main entrance doors, at 50 E Ida B Wells require guests to navigate three steps to enter the lobby. An alternative accessible entrance is located just west of the main entrance, near the corner of Ida B Wells Dr. and Wabash Ave. This entrance allows guests to access The Auditorium via a ramp, without the need to navigate any steps.

Accessible Restrooms

Two (2) accessible gender-neutral restrooms are located in the southwest corner on the Main Lobby. Two (2) additional accessible gender-neutral restrooms are located on Level 3.

Elevator

Our elevator is located in the Northwest corner of our Main Floor Lobby. For further assistance, please see any Auditorium Team Member.

Accessible Concession & Merchandise Counters

These are located on the Main Floor Lobby for all performances. The Main Floor Lobby Bar is accessible to guests in wheelchairs. If a guest requires further assistance, please ask any Auditorium Team Member.

Certified Service Animals

Certified service animals only are welcome at all events. Please inform us when purchasing your event tickets to ensure the most appropriate accommodation.

Performance Related

Accessible Seating

The Auditorium offers accessible seating in the Front Orchestra level of the theatre in the Right and Left sections.
Select seats are made available for purchase online, and they are designated with a wheelchair icon noting that they are accessible seats.
There are also a few seating options with limited stairs that are also notated on the seating chart.
We also hold a limited number of accessible seats to accommodate patrons on the day of the show.
First come first served, as availability allows. Three (3) weeks advance notice preferred.

Accommodations for Visual or Hearing Impairment

Guests can obtain infrared assistive learning devices from our coat check team. Coat check is located between Aisle 2 and Aisle 3 in the Main Floor Lobby. Assistive listening devices can be secured by leaving a photo ID and are free of charge. Assistive Listening Devices are available on a first come, first serve basis. 

If you need to request an ASL interpreter for an event, please contact boxoffice@auditoriumtheatre.org to submit your request no later than 3 weeks prior to the scheduled event date, in order to secure the requested accommodations.
