The Auditorium Theatre presents our award-winning summer camp, Hearts to Art, formerly known as Hands Together, Heart to Art! This unique performing arts camp brings together young people between the ages of 7 and 14 who have experienced the death of a parent to encourage the healing power of creative play. Through the exploration and creation of dance, theatre, and music, Hearts to Art inspires communication and collaboration, fosters emotional growth, and provides friendship, compassion and community. Through interaction with young people who have experienced a similar loss, campers understand they are not alone. Small group creative activities are facilitated by professional healing counselors, providing campers a safe time and place to express and share their feelings with peers. There are also healing counselors on site throughout the duration of camp.
Our hope is to hold camp in person for 2021, but after the successful reimagined camp-at-home of last year, we know without a doubt that new and returning campers will be acting, singing, dancing and healing again in summer 2021 – no matter the form we take. As always, we will keep in close contact with our 2021 camp families as decisions are made.
We look forward to seeing our returning campers and welcoming new members of our camp family in 2021!
