Development Associate

Position Summary
The Development Associate will provide administrative support for the Auditorium Theatre’s Development Team fundraising initiatives to include database maintenance; donor correspondence, research, analysis, and solicitation; as well as donor cultivation and fundraising events.

Major Areas of Responsibilities

-Database maintenance: Maintain donor and prospect files and database; chronicle and track all gift payments, acquisitions, gift-posting, acknowledgements, pledge payments, and billing; work with the Finance Department to ensure that development records are reconciled with accounting records and provide fundraising reports as necessary; run database reports and queries for prospect management, fundraising progress, gift solicitation, and donor communications.

-Communications: Work with the marketing department to ensure that all donors, funders, and sponsors are properly acknowledged in the performance program, on theatre signage, on the website, emails, collateral, etc.; organize and archive Auditorium event information and collateral to be used for sponsorship wrap-up reports; assist with producing individual appeal mailings; send and record gift acknowledgement letters; provide donor listing for performance program books.

-Prospect research: Provide key research for the organization by investigating and identifying new leads for individual, foundation, and corporate prospects; compile requisite materials and data for grant proposals and final reports; assist Director of Donor Engagement by recording information and compiling briefings on prospective and current donors.

-Donor stewardship: Periodically assist on performance nights in The Adler Room donor lounge and at Young Pro evenings; assist at all major Development galas and events.

-Development operations: Coordinate ticket donation requests and assist with ticketing within Development Department as needed; send out and track gift renewal membership notices; support Director of Donor Engagement with event preparation.

1 – 2 years

Relevant knowledge, skills, and abilities is the most important qualification of this position.

-Prior development experience preferred

-Knowledge of CRM systems; Tessitura preferred

-Strong technical skills

-Excellent oral and written communication skills

-Strong attention to detail

-Commitment to Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA)

-Proficiency in Microsoft Office

-Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite preferred
