K-12 groups of 10 or more are welcome at our one-hour Student Matinee performance, which is designed for field trips and to enhance learning in the classroom. Great for African American studies, social studies, and dance classes, teachers will receive a FREE Classroom Companion that will guide your students in preparing for the performances. SATURDAY, MARCH 7 @ 8:30AM + 10:15AM :: Dance Master Class :: SOLD OUT
Student study with the professionals performing on our stage! Company members from Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater will lead this master class workshop for students and adults, offering intermediate to advanced dancers the opportunity to learn the techniques and styles displayed in the performances. Master classes are 90 minutes long and are taught in the Auditorium Theatre’s Katten-Landau Studio. Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Master Classes are FULL. Join us immediately following the Saturday, March 7 matinee performance for a 20-minute post-show Q&A session. The Auditorium Theatre Education and Creative Engagement staff guides the conversation as artists from Alvin Ailey answer audiences questions about their work.
