These 3 ground-breaking contemporary dance companies open the “Made in Chicago” 312 Series with a vibrant and variant night of programming. The evening features Ate9 Dance Company, Visceral Dance Chicago, and Deeply Rooted Dance Theater demonstrating the wide range of diversity that resides in the Chicago dance scene.
Ate9’s Artistic Director Danielle Agami present’s her collaborative work calling glenn with live music provided by Chicago-based percussionist Glenn Kotche.
Visceral Dance Chicago performs company founder Nick Puill’s Soft Spoken which explores the stages of relationships from beginning to middle to end, set to a medley featuring Colin Stetson, Frank Sinatra, Arvo Pärt, Joni Mitchell, Max Richter, and Irma Thomas.
Deeply Rooted Dance Theater presents its signature combination of ballet, modern, and African contemporary dance with Kevin Iega Jeff’s Church of Nations, Gary Abbot’s Heaven and Nicole Clarke-Springer’s Until Lambs Become Lions.
