Overview
The Auditorium Theatre is an independent not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization committed to offering the finest in international, cultural and community programming to Chicago, and to the continued restoration and preservation of our National Historic Landmark Auditorium Theatre. Designed and constructed by famed architects Dankmar Adler and Louis Sullivan in 1889, the Auditorium has endured as one of the most magnificent and breathtaking venues for artistic experiences in Chicago, America, and the world.

Position Summary
The Part-Time Development Associate will learn critical fundraising and administrative skills applicable in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors, while assisting the Auditorium Theatre’s Development Department with fundraising initiatives, donor solicitation, research, correspondence, and analysis to augment the success of one of Chicago’s most iconic, celebrated and historic artistic venues.
•Act as a key researcher for the organization by investigating foundation and corporate prospects and identifying new leads with an emphasis on government funding, restoration projects, and child welfare programs.
•Write templates and compile requisite materials for grant proposals.
•Assist Major Gifts Program by compiling and recording information on prospective donors and potential sources of revenue.
•Work with the Director of Development and the Donor Relations Manager to develop familiarity with the database, chronicle payments, track acquisition, and provide gift-posting assistance as needed.
•Process ticket donation requests, act as point person for donor listing in Playbill, and assist with additional development responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications
•Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required
•Excellent oral and written communications skills
•Prior development experience preferred, but not required
•Proficient in Microsoft Office
•Accuracy and attention to detail
•Knowledge of donor database systems preferred, but not required
•Previous administration experience preferred.
