Celebrated for creating vital connections between dancers and the audience as well as presenting gutsy and entertaining works, River North Dance Chicago returns to the landmark stage for a third season.


 

Paul Taylor Dance Company

May 17-18, 2014

The Paul Taylor Dance Company returns to the Auditorium, bringing Mr. Taylor’s ever-burgeoning repertoire to our Landmark Stage. The San Francisco Chronicle proclaims “The American spirit soars whenever Taylor’s dancers dance.”

Ballet West also presents the Midwest premiere of Val Caniparoli’s The Lottery*, based on Shirley Jackson’s “The Lottery”. Set to a new musical score by Robert Moran, The Lottery is a groundbreaking interactive experience, with the audience finding out the secret before the dancers!The Lottery will be performed with Rubies,Pas de Deux from Diamonds, and world premiere Presto

Songs of the Wanderers

March 14 and 16, 2014

The Auditorium is thrilled to welcome back a visually stunning paean to spiritual pilgrimage, Songs of the Wanderers. "Exquisitely performed in deliberate slow motion; the audience jumped up to offer a cheering ovation," raved The New York Times.

A co-presentation with The Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago and The Joffrey Ballet, with underwriting support from the Alphawood Foundation.

Aladdin

March 22-23, 2014

Houston Ballet presents celebrated English choreographer David Bintley's full-length Aladdin, a magical tale of love, trickery, and triumph.

A co-production between Birmingham Royal Ballet and Houston Ballet Foundation. Co-presented with the Ravinia Festival.


 

Chick Corea and Béla Fleck

April 5, 2014

Two master songwriters, musicians, and band leaders meet in a historic duet of piano and banjo. The duet will combine 20-time Grammy winner Corea and 15-time Grammy winner Fleck's most recognizable tunes with the music from their Latin Grammy-winning album The Enchantment!
