Hearts to Art Summer Camp


Study with the professionals performing on our stage! Company members from our International Dance Series lead 90-minute master class workshops, allowing dancers to learn the techniques and styles performed throughout our season. To ensure the safety of our dancers and quality of our classes, the capacity of each class if 40 dancers.

Young artists of Chicago have two opportunities to connect with Too Hot to Handel and celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King’s vision of “Beloved Community.” Young writers in grades 3-12 are invited to enter our annual poetry contest and high school choirs are invited to apply for our Too Hot Choir Master Class! Selected choirs and poetry contest winners have the opportunity to perform on our Historic Landmark Stage!

This unique performing arts summer camp brings together young people ages 7-14 who have experienced the death of a parent. Through the exploration and creation of dance, theatre, and music, Hearts to Art inspires communication and collaboration, fosters emotional growth, and provides the consolation of friendship and compassion.
